In the first 8 verses of Genesis 4, we see the story move from hope and worship to anger, and ultimately, violence. When Cain becomes angry, God warns Cain that "sin is crouching at the door" and that he must "rule over it" so it does not grow. Cain does not listen, and anger turns to murder. We must never underestimate "crouching" sin, becasue it will master us if we don't master it. It's vital that we expose our sin to the light - darkness can't exist where the light shines!
